The following are Jim's favorite mixes of our delicious spirits. If you have a particular drink you like to make at home, please send us your recipe. Who knows, you might just see your name and drink on our website!
Blanca Tatanka (White Bison Old Fashioned)
2 oz. White Bison White Moonshine 1 Sugar cube 4 Dashes Angostura bitters 1/2 t Cognac Orange peel garnish In a mixing glass, muddle sugar cube with bitters and the Cognac. Add White Bison and ice, stirring to blend for about 30 seconds. Strain into a chilled old fashioned glass over a large ice cube. Add an orange peel garnish. |
Boozy Pumpkin Pie
1/3 C Reverence bourbon 2 large eggs at room temperature 3/4 C granulated sugar 1 t cinnamon 1/4 t cloves 15 oz. can pumpkin puree ½ t salt ½ t ginger 1 1/3 C eggnog 9” prepared pie crust Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Beat eggs lightly, then add in pumpkin and spices and mix well. Add in eggnog, then Reverence bourbon until combined. Pour into pie crust. If there is excess filling, add it to the pie after baking for 5 minutes. Bake for 15 minutes, then reduce oven heat to 350 degrees F and bake for 35 minutes more until mostly set. The middle will jiggle slightly. Remove and cool completely. Pie may be covered and refrigerated overnight. Bring to room temperature at least 20 minutes before serving. Serve with whipped cream or as desired. |
Cucumber Dirty Martini
5 oz. Southern Journey Vodka 1 oz. Dry vermouth ½ oz. Castelvetrano olive juice ¼ cucumber grated with skin on 1 pinch salt Olives, lemon twists, cucumber slices and rosemary for garnish Add grated cucumber and salt to a sieve over a cup or bowl. Let sit for 5 minutes. Once the cucumbers have released juice, stir or muddle to extra juice and set aside. Add vodka, vermouth and olive juice to a mixing glass with ice and stir. Add cucumber juice and stir to combine. Strain into two chilled martini glasses and add garnish. Dirty Martini
Pour Southern Journey Vodka over ice and add a splash of olive brine. Garnish with a jalapeno garlic olive. |
French 75
1 oz. Southern Journey vodka 1/2 oz. Lemon juice 1/4 t Simple syrup 2 oz. Champagne Sugar, for the rim of the glass 1 Raspberry, for garnish Run a slice of lemon around the rim of a martini or champagne glass. Place sugar in a shallow bowl, and turn the glass upside down to coat the rim. Add vodka, lemon juice and simple syrup to a shaker with ice. Cover and shake. Pour vodka mixture into martini glass. Top off with champagne. Garnish with raspberry. |
Hijacked Mojito
Muddle 8 mint leaves in a shaker Then add: 1 oz. lime rind simple syrup (recipe below) 1 oz. lime juice 2 oz. The Heist hand crafted whiskey Shake in shaker with ice and strain into a glass with ice. Top with 2-3 oz. ginger beer and garnish with a mint sprig and lime wedge. Lime Rind Simple Syrup 2 limes juiced, reserve lime juice 1 C sugar 1 C water Once limes are juiced, place the leftover rinds in a medium saucepan with water and sugar. Boil over medium heat for 5-10 minutes until sugar dissolves. Let cool in pan, then drain off the syrup in a jar and refrigerate. |
Mr. Frosty by Crystal at Oaks Country Club
1.5 to 2 oz. Southern Journey vodka 1 oz. peppermint schnapps 1 oz. Kahlúa 1 oz. Half and Half Topping: Whipped cream and additional half and half Combine all ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice and shake. Pour into a martini glass. Combine whipped cream and additional half and half into a new glass, shake and top off the drink. Enjoy! |
Southern Journey Summer Blue Mule by Melissa Wedman
1 oz. Fresh lime juice 1 cup Ginger beer 4 oz. Blueberry simple syrup 3 oz. Red Fork Distillery Southern Journey vodka Handful of frozen blueberries (optional) Raw sugar to rim glass Rub a cut lime around the rim of jar or cup and coat rim with raw sugar. Carefully fill jar 3/4 full of ice. In measuring cup or shaker, combine all ingredients except frozen blueberries and mix well. Pour into jar. Add frozen blueberries for garnish. *Recipe fills mason jar. Cut ingredients in half for smaller glass or copper mug. |
Summer Cucumber Martini
1.5 oz. Southern Journey vodka 1 oz. Triple Sec 1 oz. Simple Syrup 1 oz. Cucumber juice .5 oz. lime juice Tajin seasoning Puree cucumber and strain the juice. Combine ingredients into a shaker with ice. Cover and shake. Run slice of cucumber around the rim of martini glass and rim with Tajin seasoning. Pour drink into martini glass, float cucumber slice for garnish and lightly sprinkle with Tajin. (Substitute sugar rim if desired.) |
Urban Bison (Manhattan)
2 oz. White Bison White Moonshine 1/2 oz. Sweet vermouth 1 Sugar cube 4 Dashes Angostura bitters 4 Dashes orange bitters Maraschino cherry In a mixing glass, muddle the bitters with the sugar cube. Add the White Bison and vermouth, stirring well to blend. Strain mixture into a cocktail shaker filled with ice and shake vigorously to blend. Strain this mixture into a chilled coupe cocktail glass and add a maraschino cherry for garnish. |
War Dance Apple Pie by Shelly Burnham
1/3 C War Dance Cinnamon Moonshine 3 C pared, cored and sliced apples (3 Honeycrisp and 3 Granny Smith) 3 T Flour 1/2 t Cinnamon 1 C Sugar 2 T Butter 3 T Milk Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Soak apples in Moonshine for 30 minutes. Mix apples, flour, sugar and cinnamon. Stir gently. Pour into unbaked pie shell. Dab with butter and sprinkle with milk. Cover the pie with top crust and bake 40-45 minutes. |
Winter's Song (Southern Journey Martini)
2 oz. Southern Journey Vodka 1 oz. Cranberry juice cocktail 1 oz. Cointreau or Citronge liqueur 1/2 oz. Lime juice 1/2 t Falernum Cranberries (to your taste) Combine ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with cracked ice and shake vigorously. Strain into a chilled martini glass and add cranberries for garnish. |
